What to do in Chile
Chile’s capital is a collection of distinct neighbourhoods, the perfect place to take a stroll along the boulevard or enjoy a coffee at a street café and enjoy views of the eclectic architecture. There are museums and parks to explore. For nightlife, head to Barrios Brasil or Bellavista for restaurants and beer halls. Late night revellers head for Providencia
Torres del Paine National Park
Flanked by three mountain summits, Torres del Paine National Park is one of the few places in the world where you can see wild puma. Llama-like guanaco herds are wary of this predator, regularly stopping their grazing, knowing something is close.

This 55km trek around Torres del Paine National Park follows a W shaped route, hence the name W Trek. It takes in the mountains, lakes and the expanse of the Grey Glacier. Staying overnight in the refuges that line the route, most visitors complete the course in 4 days. The trek culminates with the three towers which give the park its name and make for a fitting finale.
Easter Island aka Rapa Nui
Easter Island is most famous for the ‘Heads’ or moai, which line sections of the coastline, the Heads look inland to where villages would once have stood. If you can, see them at sunrise or sunset.
The other must see on Easter Island is the Rano Kau crater of a now extinct volcano.
It takes five hours to reach Easter Island by plane from Santiago,
but well worth the effort required to get there.
What to do on Easter Island
Covering a 1,000 km strip of land on the Pacific coast, The Atacama is a desert plateau to the west of the Andes Mountains. The Andes on one side and the Chilean Coast Range on the other are high enough to stop the rain clouds from passing into the desert region, making it just about the driest place on earth.
