Santo Domingo (aka ‘La Capital’).
In the centre of the city is the Basilica Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, dedicated to: Maria de la Encarnacion, is the oldest cathedral in the Americas. Within its vaults lie the remains of Christopher Columbus, discoverer of the New World.
